Our goal is to create your trophy animal as close to Mother Nature as possible by creating a three dimensional viewing and life like gestures. The boundary we use is what the reference photos show us. (A very lost aspect in this trade) We want our look to be alive, not stylized. We will take the time to educate our clients by showing you photos and references and our work of why our pieces are “heads above the rest”. We can show you exactly the difference between our quality and other firm’s quality. We will explain to you exactly what drumming is, why it is there, what will happen if it stays there, why hair color fades, anatomy detail, impeccable sewing and seams, finishing techniques that rival the industry. Our pieces are anatomically accurate but not over emphasized or exaggerated muscles or in proper skin winkles. We use accurate eye settings according to the live reference photos on file. We offer our standard 6 month turn around since 1999.

You will see a definite difference in standards when you are working with Heads Above The Rest, Inc. ® Wildlife Studio and Gallery. We try to lead the industry in higher standards. Our clients don’t mind paying a higher price for quality, for it is a life time investment they receive.

Heads Above The Rest, Inc.® provides the highest quality of taxidermy, artistic design and exceptional bases with habitat, one on one personal attention with the up most level of professionalism. We take the time to listen to your needs. When you see our work you will agree that a lot of pride and artistic creativity go into everything we do. All prices are based upon an hourly rate plus supplies. This price list will give you a “high ballpark” to go by.

Pricing example: In the price of the mount you wish to have completed, listed costs $1000.00 dollars. You will give a deposit for $500.00 dollars. When completed if your trophy cost $750.00 dollars. You would only owe $250.00 dollars.

This price structure is done because there are too many variables in which we encounter in the mounting process where the artist is at a loss. So we can not give you a definite price until your mount is finished. If you need to set your budget, then you will need to base it from the estimated listed price.

Problem examples: Cut brisket, arm pit cut out or off the hide, too many skinning cuts, big or a lot of bullet holes, the outfitters not skinning out your trophy properly. Bug or rat eaten African skins, grease rendered hides. The unusual smaller or larger animal, which leads to excessive form alterations. Extensive form alteration scenes for a pedestal mount or action poses or custom bases and hard wood bases, lack of improper field care causing difficulties in the tanning process, inaccurate manikins. We don’t believe that everyone should be charged more for the possibility of problems, just the mounts that need it.

Scenes for a pedestal mount, custom bases, hard wood bases and rock work, are extra.

Because of the extreme level of quality that we deliver, Heads Above The Rest, Inc. will only be accepting a limited number of clients per year to maintain high quality service. Hunting trophies shipped to us without notice may not be offered our 6 month delivery finish date. All work received is personally customized for your own personal requirements. We do not give discounts due to each piece is customized. Discounts only mean we have to cut something out of your mount either product or quality. We think too highly of our clients to do this injustice. Please ask to make sure our delivery time did not change.

If you decide for Heads Above The Rest, Inc. to be your custom taxidermist, you will need to let us know in advance when you will be hunting, how many species, and the time your trophies are expected to arrive.
