You may have seen Ron’s art work displayed for auction at the Dallas Natural Museum of History in Association with the Smithsonian Institution, the Dallas Safari Club, Bosque Conservatory Art Museum, Friends of the NRA and in private collections from all over the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Drawing is therapeutic for me. It only takes moments to forget about the day’s stresses and time just passes by. After an evening of drawing I am so relaxed and at peace. I am always amazed how fast three or four hours pass by only feeling like minutes.
It is so rewarding when you have a vision and you slowly see the thought come to life. To me it is like Christmas, I can not wait to wake up to see what my mind will unwrap and vision today!
I take as much time as I can get away from either work or worrying about completion times and try to enjoy what god put on this earth.
Perfect example is in the summer of 2003 my wife and I were hiking in North West Montana. The mountain sides have broken powdery snow across them. Tracking a set of mountain goat tracks, recklessly day dreaming, how cool would it be if I could get a glimpse of a mountain goat. Hours of hiking, loosing the tracks, and then finding them; we suddenly sensed we were close. And around from a thick juniper steps a brilliant white long haired billy goat, nanny and two kids! The two kids were only five paces away. My heart thumping, knees trembling, tingling ringing burning ears feeling that was! We watched them slowly feed their way from the edge of tree line they grazed over the top.
My wife and I high-five each other and just wanted to scream with excitement. Hiking back off the mountain I rambled on like a hipper school kid who just had a soda. Moments like that we will never forget!
I can still remember clear as the day it happened looking into the eyes of the billy and noticing his pupil looking at me and scanning the cover. The word of the lord "thanks to be god".
